Yung mga kadete ngumingiti na at sumasaludo yung batang 2 years old sakanila. Pero si Orvik, seryoso. Walang makitang ngiti sakanya.’

My Swim at Lago Del Ray

My Swim at Lago Del Ray

My very first time to swim in a lake was this November 2, 2011. Lago Del Ray is a man-made lake with floaters which are fun to play on. It is located in Pili, Camarines Sur which is a ten minute ride from Naga. My family –Dad, Mom, Orvik and I together with some of my cousins such as John Felix, Kuya Harry, Kuya Janpol, Princess, Fevelyn, and Xandra, my uncles and aunts all went to this beautiful lake. At one glance, the lake looked shallow enough for us to have an awesome time such as playing tag and swim race. But when I dipped your feet in, the water felt warm and deep. Even though the water wasn’t that welcoming, the luring floaters like the icebergs, the trampoline, and the water slide located at the mid-deep parts of the lake looked exciting.

While my parents and aunts watched us, my cousin John Felix and I went into the dark depths of the lake first. At the first jump into the water, I felt my spine shaking because of the cold water my feet felt. I was afraid to go to the humongous floaters so I stayed on the platform until Kuya Harry suddenly jumped and headed for the trampoline. Seeing Kuya Harry’s courage while he was swimming, I also dived after him. While I was swimming, the water wasn’t so bad as if it were saying, “Don’t be afraid, be calm.” When I felt my head being tossed and turned as if I was inside a mixer truck being shaken alongside with the cement, I began to think that the other floaters might be as exciting as this one, or even better. Then my brother Orvik and I began to swim our way toward the small iceberg. At that moment, my niece Ivee called out from the platform,” Kuya Rovik, wait for me!”

The iceberg experience was even better than that on the trampoline. My brother, my cousins, my niece and I climbed up the iceberg and then jumped separately from any level we individually wanted to try. Next, we tried the biggest iceberg which was the tallest floater on the lake. My brother couldn’t climb the iceberg so he decided to join John Felix and the others at the water slide. Climbing up to feel what it was like to jump off the third floor of a business tower was tiring but it was worth it anyway. Level 1 wasn’t that scary since it’s just like the small iceberg. Level 2 was rib-tickling because while I was falling, my heart pumped faster that it left me breathless for a while when I plunged into the water, but level 3 was heart-blowing. It was the same at the level 2 but much longer and it felt like you’re jumping off the fourth floor of a building. It was so high that it was very cold at the top. What a blown opportunity my cousin Kuya John Paul had because he couldn’t climb the iceberg too because he was already fat and couldn’t even lift his body to climb up. However, Ivee, Kuya Harry, John Felix and I were able to climb and jump off the iceberg first. The iceberg was the only floater I wanted to jump off so I slid off each and every level without hesitation. The other floaters were also addicting such as the water slide because I slipped and fell straight into the water through a hole at the end of the floater. As a result of the iceberg experience, I tried each and every floater. It was the moment of my life in the lake.

At around four o’ clock in the afternoon, we were tired of the climbing, the sliding, and the jumping. We also got hungry of using the energy draining icebergs. It was really fun spending the last day in Bicol with my cousins. Heading home, my cousins and I recalled every single moment we spent at the lake. On the whole, we have accomplished our mission – that of jumping off the largest iceberg.

My Tuli Experience

One hot Sunday afternoon on May 23, my mom announced that my cousins Totoy and Harry were already circumcised. Totoy and Harry are my closest friends. Our age gap is only months and years. I thought if Totoy is younger than me and can endure the pain, then I could too. So I told my dad that I too shall do “it” the next day. When my dad heard it, he said “good ok”. I said it, so that when we go back to Bicol, I won’t be teased by Totoy and Harry. I was excited after I heard The news, but my excitement wore out when it was time to sleep because the next 15 hours, it’s OUCH TIME!!!
The next day we went to a hospital near SM Bicutan , and my mom told the nurse that I will be circumcised. The doctor came in the check-up room and checked my winky. When he saw it, he said it’s going to be more expensive because the outer skin is still attached to the tip of my winky, but I could still be circumcised. The doctor led us to the Emergency room. I saw the nurse prepare the tools that would be used during the circumcision. When I lay down on the small bed, I said to myself ”This is the last day of me being a little boy”. The first strike of the needle, I felt the unendurable pain. I called my parents to hold my hand. I calmed down when it was time to sew the wound. I felt the suture traveling through the wound as I wept. I was relieved when it was finished. It lasted 1 hour even though the doctor said it would only last for 20 minutes. It was successful though there was blood. I found out there was blood because of the doctor’s gloves. My dad paid the cashier 1,750 pesos for the circumcision. I thanked the doctor and my parents for the comfort.
I thank God for making it successful. I am confident that my cousins won’t tease me. When I and my family return to Bicol and I meet my cousins, I’m sure we will have a lot to talk about sharing our own Tuli Experiences.

Adventure with My Mom and My Brother

One day, my mom, my brother, and I went for a field trip. At first we were planning to go to Toa Payoh to return the books we borrowed to the library. First, we rode a bus and we thought that the driver is bringing us to Toa Payoh Mall. The driver took us back to Paya Lebar station instead of Toa Payoh Mall. We lost 2.56 Singapore dollars. We got down at Paya Lebar station and we just took the MRT. In the train, my mom and I kept talking about the bus driver that cheated us.
We reached Toa Payoh and we ate lunch at Burger King. We went to the library and we returned the books that we borrowed from Geylang library. We searched for CD's and we found books for my exam on March 27. After we finished going to the library,we rode the MRT going to Siemei.
My mom and I got to Siemei fast since the speed of the train was fast.We went down to the mall at Siemei and we bought Naruto collectibles. I bought stickers and a One Piece ez-link sticker.I was planning to buy Jonin shoes, but they didn't have any. We didn't see anything exciting at the first floor of the mall at Siemei, we went to the second floor but still we didn't see anything. I was getting hungry and thirsty after all the walk. Since we didn't get to see enough collectibles,we planned to go to Tampines and buy some Naruto collectibles.
We went to Tampines and we went to the mall near Tampines station. We went to the fourth floor and we found an anime shop named Urban Shop. I saw a shuriken that costs $3.95 Singapore dollars. I know it costs me an arm and a leg but I want it so badly. I bought it and lost $3.95Singapore dollars. I got hungry and my mom said that we would eat dinner at Kopitiam. We ordered food at a stall named "Filipino Cuisine". After eating dinner, we went home happily at Ciruit road and played with our newly bought toys. THE END

My Adventure with my Mom

I had a great time with my Mom when we had an adventure from Kallang, to Tanjong Pagar, to Tampines, and to Pasir Ris. First we went to Kallang to ask the officer on the third floor, if we could extend our stay in Singapore. The officer cautiosly said "No". My Mom understood it that we couldn't extend our stay in Singapore . We went down to the SMRT station for our next stop, Tanjong Pagar.
My Mom and I got to Tanjong Pagar at lunch time. My Mom bought us some Filipino food called "Bulalo". The bulalo was very yummy, I thanked my Mom for buying us that delicous bulalo. Since we didn't see anything interesting at Tanjong Pagar besides the mall in the Amara, we planned to go to Tampines. We went to the SMRT station to go to Tampines.
It was about five minutes to 12 until we reached the station of Tampines. I noticed a mall beside the station, I said to my Mom,"Hey Ma, there's a mall beside this station. Let's check it out." My Mom agreed and said,"Let's see if there's meat in their market ." My Mom and I went inside. We went to a department store and my Mom bought herself a jewelry that costs 10 dollars. We went up the mall to the third floor and I saw a comic shop. I went to the comicshop with my Mom and I saw an original kunai knife and a shuriken but it costs me an arm and a leg, the kunai knife costs 3. 75 dollars while the shuriken costs 4 dollars. Since it was expensive, we just went straight to Pasir Ris.
When we reached Pasir Ris station, a mall is at the side of the station too. My Mom and I went inside the mall. I also found a comic shop at the third floor too. We went in the comic shop and in the comic shop, I saw a kunai knife that costs 2.50 dollars only. I didn't see a shuriken in the comic shop. After buying two of the kunai knifes, we went straight to Circiut road and I slept like a baby that walked one kilometer in one day. THE END

My Trip to Malaysia

My trip to Malaysia was a tiring experience. I was with my mom, my brother,my aunt, my Dad,Tito Malcom and and Tita Connie. I could not understand what the Malaysians are saying. It wasn't fun to go there as well. We travelled 6 hours from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and all we found was a place like the Philippines. We also travelled 300 kilometers more to Kuala Lumpur and we only went to a meeting.
When we got to Kuala Lumpur,my Dad prepared a meeting which lasted for less than an hour. My mom, brother , aunt and I went to the bookshop while we waited for Dad to finish his meeting. My Dad talked about wood or log since he saw trees beside the highway. At sundown,it rained a little then burst at night time.
After travelling 375 kilometers going home,we were blocked at the Immigration by a bald Singaporean officer. We were told that the least number of days to stay in Malaysia before going to Singapore is 5 days.We went to the office and the bald officer checked my parents'FIN number. He also asked for my Dad's sister's FIN number. There was a problem or confusion because of the extension of our short-term visit pass. By 10:45 pm, we were allowed to go home. After Tito Malcom and Tita Connie brought us home,I said,"I will never go to Malaysia until it's the same as Singapore."
